South by Southwest has furnished this link to a form Austin bloggers can complete for a free pass to the Trade Show to see the Weblog Awards during SXSW Interactive (Sunday, March 9 at 3:00 on the Day Stage).
The first Austin Blog Day is coming. This is an event so big, so exciting, it cannot fit into just 24 hours. Everybody in Austin who blogs (or journals) is invited to participate.
Blog Day runs Sunday, Feb 23 through Monday, Feb 24 The topic for Blog Day is What to do with Four Spare Hours in Austin. To participate, sometime during the 48 hours of Blog Day post an article to your weblog about the chosen topic. Then, submit your article for listing here, on the Austin Meta-Blog.
VENUE ANNOUNCED!
There is an Austin Blogger Meetup:
Wednesday, Feb 19 @ 7PM
Spider House
2908 Fruth St
Austin, TX 78705
512-480-9562
It's a good idea to register on the site, because you get to have a say in the venue and also get email reminders of the monthly get-togethers.
Chip says, "Meetups are independent of any organization (except meetup.com). So, they aren't an "official Austin-Bloggers happening" (whatever that means). Nonetheless, there is sure to be huge overlap between our group and the Meetup attendees."
Did you know there is an Austin Bloggers webring? Turns out the webring existed even before we formed our group. Visit the webring home page for more information.
We'll be getting a snazzy webring button posted here shortly, but until then, how about an ASCII button:
If you are interested in the Austin-Blogger activities, please join our mailing list.
The Austin-Bloggers will be having a dinner get-together this Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 6:30pm. We will be meeting at the Brick Oven Restaurant, Red River location. Join us! For additional information, contact David Nunez.
